Hello! I’m Gissa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Grateful Insights. I provide both individual and couples counseling to adults seeking real, lasting change through in-person and virtual sessions in Naples, Bonita Springs, and surrounding areas. I also offer therapy in Maine through secure telehealth sessions, expanding access to seasonal residents and others.
My approach is direct and strengths-focused. I will remind you of your inherent strengths and resilience, but I won’t shy away from offering honest feedback when you feel stuck. Together, we’ll uncover what’s holding you back and build a path toward healing and growth.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CBT for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), EMDR therapy, and the Gottman Method approach into treatment, tailoring each plan to your needs.
I’ve worked with individuals and families to overcome past traumas for over 20 years, and in recent years I’ve devoted much of my work to supporting Veterans, caregivers, and their families. I have served within the Department of Veterans Affairs, overseeing the development and evaluation of national suicide prevention initiatives, providing clinical leadership in national advance care planning programs, and in direct mental health care.
Whether you’re seeking support for trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, or chronic stress, therapy can be a place to reconnect with your strength and clarity. I provide therapy services for adults and couples in Naples and surrounding Southwest Florida communities, with in-person sessions available in Naples, as well as virtual therapy for residents of Florida and Maine.
Together, we’ll work to help you move forward with greater resilience, balance, and confidence.

AynMarie is a graduate Mental Health Counseling Intern at Grateful Insights in Naples, Florida, currently accepting new clients for individual therapy at a reduced-cost rate under clinical supervision.
Originally from Maui, Hawaii, AynMarie brings a global perspective to her work, having lived and studied around the world. She earned her bachelor’s degree in International Psychology from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based mental health care and conducted research exploring how mindfulness practices can influence the brain.
AynMarie's interest in trauma-informed therapy grew through her work with refugee populations in Europe and her experience as a mental health specialist within a Washington school district, where she supported children with significant trauma and abuse histories. She is now expanding her clinical work with adults, with a particular interest in how trauma, stress, and major life changes can shape our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and overall well-being. She is especially interested in supporting women, military and expat spouses, remote workers, and individuals navigating anxiety, loneliness, disconnection, dating and relationship frustrations, life transitions, or a loss of direction and purpose.
Her approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate, drawing on evidence-based care, mindfulness, and each client’s individual experiences and strengths. She aims to help clients better understand their patterns, identify what is within their control, and make meaningful changes that feel aligned with the life and relationships they want to build.
